      Hello,

I have a Core2Duo testing Machine here in order to gain first experiences with pfsense. Until now I always used ipcop.
Pfsense installs finely and I am able to properly configure lan and wan interfaces. After the first boot, I am able to open the packagmanager and install packages, but as soon as I reboot, I get the following error in package manager:
"Unable to communicate with www.pfsense.com. Please verify DNS and interface configuration, and that pfSense has functional Internet connectivity."
But WAN settings are still the same than before. I'm right now not connected to a modem, but behind a router. And WAN always gets the same DHCP lease.
I even tried not installing any packages, but no diffrence. As soon as I reboot pfsense for the first time, no internet connectivity for the package manager.

Tried the latest stable release and also RC2 form 08.06.2011

      Any ideas?

That message could generally only happen for one of three reasons:

        1. You don't have working DNS
        2. You don't have a default gateway to the Internet
        3. Internet access is blocked somehow from that IP

Check the DNS server that is used when you first install, and then after reboot. It shows on Status > Interfaces

          Hello jimp,
          thanks for your answer.

yes, that's what I checked first, but all the settings are ok (ip, dns, gw). Even when I config static settings I'm not able to get a connection anymore.
It's always after the first reboot.
I now tried smoothwall, and there I have no connection issues, but I prefer pfsense ;)

Another error I had sometimes is that after disconnecting wan or setting anything up on network interfaces, the web ui had some problems an I had to reboot the web ui.
          Maybe a driver issue?
