[SOLVED] different default gateway on LAN than x.x.x.1
-
Hello
I recently changed an old router to a Pfsense-router.
Before I used 192.168.24.254 as default gateway on LAN
Now I can only use 192.168.24.1 on LANCan I somehow change LAN to:
Subnet: 192.168.24.0
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.24.254Br. Anders

Can I somehow change LAN to:
Subnet: 192.168.24.0
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.24.254From pfSense console select item 2) Set Interface(s) IP address and set new parameters for the LAN interface and reboot to make sure the old parameters are properly cleared out.
If you have set things up to allow it you could SSH in over the WAN interface and select option 2) as described above or access the WEB GUI from the WAN interface and then change the LAN interface parameters and reboot.
If you attempt to change the LAN interface IP address while accessing pfSense over the LAN inerface to make the change you are in danger of losing access part way through if you aren't careful - easiest to access through the console or another interface.

Anders…
Tilleback is correct but I would also check your DHCP setup to make sure you have set this up correctly.
And check your subnet in the LAN interface.
Your subnetting scheme should work as long as your routing to the 254 gateway addressing. Make sure your Lan is /24.
i.e. 192.168.24.0/24H.

Hello
This must have been my mistake. Because I had no trouble setting it up this time. There seem to be no problem at all changing LAN interface ip (LAN default gateway) within an existing IP-range.
Thanks for all help.
