What's best a router providing the net or an adsl card
-
Is it worth buying an adsl pci card for the pf box or just using a cheap router. Any comments appreciated

ADSL modem is another option. Where I live an ADSL modem is a bit cheaper than an ADSL modem/router which is quite a lot cheaper than ADSL PCI card. But the real answer depends on the features and performance you are looking for.
I'm using an ADSL modem so I can directly monitor my public IP address in pfSense by running ppp in my pfSense rather than in an ADSL modem/router. (I couldn't get the ADSL modem/router to work in bridge modem with pfSense.)

Adsl modem as in the USB type not the pci or router type ?

Just get an Ethernet modem, no other options are currently supported (unless you want to add support yourself).

Might just leave it as it is connected to a router thought I could of added a pci adsl card which might of increased performance.
I am looking to add a second adsl line to the pf box should I just get a second router and connect it in via 3rd network card.

There wouldn't be any difference in performance between an Ethernet modem and a PCI card, every modem is more than fast enough to handle DSL speeds.

There is a Viking PCI ADSL modem which should work since it (allegedly) behaves like a Realtek 8139. I have no experience with this device.

I'd stick with what you've got if it's working for you.
The WAG200G you are using can be configured in "bridge mode only" allowing your pfSense box to have an external IP address and to control the connection. To do this you have to use PPPoE and I believe your ISP has to support PPPoE login.
