I'm trying to bridge the WAN port to WAP on an Alix embedded system so that I can use it as an access point. Bridging worked and was easier in the 1.2.x versions of pfsense, but now when I create a bridge between the two in version 2.0 rc1, it seems to do absolutely nothing.

I've tried following this guide: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=20917.0 but it only made it so that I couldn't access the alix unit until I restored it to factory defaults through the console.

My question is, how do I successfully bridge the WAP port and the atheros wireless like I could in pfsense 1.2.x?

You need to bridge you LAN and WLAN if you want to make it an AP. WAN isn't used on an AP.

You wouldn't even need to bridge unless you want the wireless network to be on the same segment as the LAN. If you create firewall rules that allow traffic to LAN and/or WAN you can use PfSense as an AP.
