Issue with Mondays build on x-6000

  • I am using a cf card.  Everytime I reboot I loos my configuration.  Even backing up to a different partition does not help.  I have a 40 GB drive installed it is now showing up as a boot volume.

I just upgraded to the latest code, I did reboot and it seemed to hold the configuration.

With the hd installed, is it possible to format it to see if it ok?

  • Everytime I upgrade on RC-3, I completely loose my configuration.  I even backed it up and tried to restore the configuration.  and got a mismatch port configuration and can't even do a proper restore.  Anybody got any thoughts.

  • What is an X-6000? (Maybe it is not relevant.)

If pfSense starts and thinks there is a missing network interface it will enter a dialogue to reconfigure interfaces. It seems that is what you are seeing (mismatch port configuration). I was using a USB ethernet interface and sometimes it didn't initialise on startup and I would see the dialogue to configure interfaces.

At that point, you should attempt to configure the interfaces so you can connect to the CLI interface (over SSH) and post the output of the shell command dmesg. This output may give more information about what is going on.

  • It is a WatchGuard x-6000.

  • removed the usb wireless adapter and it works fine.  So what I decided to do is add the interface and only enable it when needed.
