      Hi friends,
I set a pfSense proxy filter. Everthing is working except the following problem.

Actually I create Group ACL's & respective Target Categories. But if i give permission to any group [blk_BL_searchengines] as Whitelist, its allow all user from that group to access GMAIL.

Another thing is that, if i directly hit gmail.com it is blocked. But if i open google.com, and from google home page redirect to gmail then it opens. Also able to access YAHOO MAIL

If I put entry in Black List under Access Control, it blocks all the groups. Not block the perticular group. I want to block that access to a perticular groups.

Please help to fix this issue.

      Thanks & Regards

Are you just using Squid or are you also using SquidGuard?

Make a new category for gmail, set the domain to gmail.com (and gmail.google.com I think), and it should show up at the top of the list. Deny access to that and it should be fine, no matter what the lower groups define the ones at the top take precedence.

Also, don't use whitelist, use pass.

Won't users still be able to access directly via httpS://mail.google.com?

If you are using squid in transparent mode, yes. If you have the proxy hardcoded on someone's PC settings, no.
