      Hello

After running snapshots and upgrading on a more or less daily basis… how shall we go back to stable after that is released?

Will there still be snapshots and the interface saying "upgrade available"? Or will it stop and only signed releases will trick the "upgrade" notice?

I got three boxes in production and I would like those to get back on stable releases only.

In the firmware settings tab just pick the official update site from the drop-down. Once 2.0 is released that will point to the official 2.0 signed image (right now it points to 1.2.3 since that is the newest -release version)

          Hello Jimp

          Thanks for your reply.
You got me on that one cos I cannot find any dropdown…

          What I can do is:

          • Go to system -> firmware

          • On the last tab I can uncheck the "Unsigned images"

The problem with this solution is, that it will keep writing that there is an update. It will download the update and then give an error since the image is not signed.

          I am on:
          2.0-RC3 (i386)
built on Sun Jun 26 21:24:20 EDT 2011
          nanobsd (512mb)

You want to check "Allow Unsigned images" if you are using snapshots.

You need to go into updater settings…. That's where you'll find the drop down menu.

Thank you for pointing that out once againg. This time, when visiting the page, I actually did see the dropdown. I have been to that page several times. How I missed the see the dropdown until now is unclear to me.

The manifest was missing for nanobsd up until I fixed it after my last post. If it can't fetch the manifest, it doesn't show the drop-down. :-)

Super. That explains it. Not just me beeing to stressed.

I still miss the dropdown on one of my boxes. When comparing two pfysically identical boxes I get the dropdown on one but (build 4th of July) not the other (build 26th of June).

The one without dropdown cannot check for updates. Not even when entering the same update URL as on the other box will make update possible. And I am not sure on witch build to use if doing it manually. There is quite a few versions for 2.0-RC3-512Mb-1386

Here is the text from the startpage
                    Version 2.0-RC3 (i386)
built on Sun Jun 26 21:24:20 EDT 2011
                    Unable to check for updates.
                    Platform nanobsd (512mb)
                    NanoBSD Boot Slice pfsense1 / ad0s2
CPU Type Geode(TM) Integrated Processor by AMD PCS

Any clue on what build to choose manually?
