Bug in IPv6 RC3 ISO?
I was having a strange issue which I finally worked out appears to be a bug in the IPv6 RC3 ISO available here http://iserv.nl/files/pfsense/ipv6/rc1/pfSense-2.0-RC3-IPv6.iso (03-Jul-2011 21:33 110M). I get this error when the CD is done starting up, same when I install to a HD on a VMware config:
grep: /var/log/dmesg.boot: No such file or directory
[: -gt: unexpected operator
More importantly, although I have two network interfaces detected in pfSense during bootup at em0 and em1 I don't get the interface config screen after bootup. The interfaces don't show in the welcome screen. If I push 1 to assign interfaces I just end up back at the welcome menu (with assign interfaces etc). Things like the shell or set interface IP seems to work although with no interfaces assigned it's not very useful.
I've tried both the RC2 IPv6 ISO http://iserv.nl/files/pfsense/ipv6/rc1/pfSense-2.0-RC2-IPv6-13-05-2011.iso.gz and the RC3 normal ISO http://files.nl.pfsense.org/mirror/downloads/pfSense-2.0-RC3-i386-20110621-1650.iso.gz and these work as expected (I.E. I get the interface assignment on startup).
So it seems like there's something wrong with the ISO?
Just to make sure it's not a broken download, I've downloaded the file twice, both times got
so I guess my download is correct. (There's no signature or checksum/hash published.)
I still need to delete those.
Use these instead: http://files.pfsense.org/jimp/ipv6/
Good ol 404 error on that link sadly.
should be http://files.pfsense.org/jimp/ipv6/
