    I just installed pfsense 2.0 and had it running for about 3 hours and all of the sudden it froze up and when I rebooted I had the error message below.  Any suggestions on how to fix this issue? Thx

    trying to mount root from ufs dev ad0s1a

    Warning :/ was not properly dismounted

    Warning: R/W mount of / Denied. Filesystem is not clean - run fsck
    mount: /dev/ados1a : Operation not permitted

      @VeGeTa-X:

      mount: /dev/ados1a : Operation not permitted

      This sort of thing is sometimes seen when pfSense doesn't shutdown cleanly (e.g. panic or power fail).

      On my last reboot I saw:

      Trying to mount root from ufs:/dev/ad0s1a
      WARNING: / was not properly dismounted
      WARNING: R/W mount of / denied.  Filesystem is not clean - run fsck
      ugen0.2: <vendor 0x0a46="">at usbus0
      udav0: <vendor 0="" 2="" 0x0a46="" product="" 0x9601,="" class="" 0,="" rev="" 1.10="" 1.01,="" addr="">on usbus0</vendor></vendor>

      I think the mount failure might be fairly serious and you may need to boot another FreeBSD image and use that to run fsck on /dev/ad0s1a to repair it. You might be able to boot from a FreeBSD or pfSense USB stick.

          Well I re-installed the pfsense. Then I was installing my configs and after a while pfsense just locked up.  I did a hard boot and it came back up but on the console screen and serial screen it just hangs on the message below.  I think of doing another re-install maybe this time not use the 64bit version but just use the 32bit version please let me know what you think. thx

            Using the 32-bit version may provide some additional information.

              Did not do a reinstall I did a fsck -t ufs /dev/ad0s1a and everything was clean but I still get a trying to mount from ufs:/dev/ad0s1a at the console screen and just hangs their.  But I am log into the web gui of pfsense and I am passing traffic through and making changes with no problem.  This is very weird.
