I am havinbg an issue with both my hotels where someone with a vista laptop connects to the network and gets a 169...* address rather than the IP address that is in the IP range. My range is 10.0.0.25-10.0.2.254. This issue is happening with many vista laptops. Please advise what the issue may be.

Look through this (old) thread here:
        http://www.mail-archive.com/support@pfsense.com/msg17856.html

Seems that some, but not all, Vista clients can misbehave when sending DHCP requests.

I've never had a problem with XP, Vista, 7, etc.

Is there a fix for this issue or no?
