      Newbie here!!

Just wondering if any similar "face" is available/recommended, to facilitate quick navigation through the folders, file-viewing, minor editing, etc.

Dunno if I could handle the installation of any non-pfSense package, but I could certainly dream about it! I've done a few on other routers (eg, Freesco), but I was very reliant on good notes.

      Thank you,
        - Mike

Midnight commander is in the ports collection of FreeBSD:
        http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/misc/mc/

You can use the pkg_add command to install it from the shell:
        http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=pkg_add&sektion=1

        "pkg_add -r mc" should work I guess.
