      Hello,
I'm running 1.2.3 pfsense for quite long time. I've tried to set up Traffic Shaper but it didn't work as expected. At the end it was down to our ISP provider. As we couldn't do anything with that we've split our VoIP traffic down to ISP1 and other traffic through ISP2. Now we're going to change these connections and we'll have 1 Fibre with 100/100Mbps.
Here is a question now as I need to start using the Traffic Shaper to make sure that VoIP has got right priority and minimum bandwidth allocated (in-house VoIP server based on asterisk). Is it good idea to upgrade to version 2 of pfsense or just try to make this work on version 1.2.3. I've researched this and it looks like there were some issues with Traffic Shaper on 1.2.3.

      Thanks
      Andre

Traffic shaping works fine in version 1.2.3.

I've never tried it with VoIP but I use it when I stream music from home to work.
I've run tests that show that it does in fact work.

I did a Shoutcast stream while maxing my connection with an FTP transfer from home to work at the same time.
I first streamed the Shoutcast via VPN connection I had configured and the music stuttered during the transfer. (no traffic shaping on lan to lan connections).
Then I switched to streaming over the WAN port via my public IP address and the stuttering stopped.

          Hello,
I've made this working as it should be in version 1.2.3. It was definitely down to our ISP provider as I didn't do to many changes, then we've switched over to fibre optic and QoS for VoIP is working as a charm.
Even though I'm going to switch to 2.0 version of pfsense. Already some problems with the config but overall I think 2.0 version is a way to go right now.

          Thanks
          Andre
