      Hello,

we have some time the problem with this error:
      Sep 2 14:00:54 kernel: arp_rtrequest: bad gateway 80.x.x.x (!AF_LINK)
Sep 2 14:00:50 kernel: carp0: MASTER -> BACKUP (more frequent advertisement received)

i have running a tcpdump for checking who have send the "more frequent advertisement" but dont send any one…

I've read we can ignore the message "bad gateway" but with the notice we have a network issue.

My problem is thats some traffic is not routing over the firewall for only 10 minutes. When i will ping one maschin behind the pfsense i dont receive a answer from the firewall i can ping the maschin. after 10 minutes is all ok..

have any one a idea what is the problem?

      we Use pfsense 1.2.2.

      Thanks and Best Regards,

      Jens

The CARP bad gateway has nothing to do with that. I would upgrade to the latest 2.0 release regardless, though I don't think that will fix your problem, 1.2.2 is a very dated release.

Not enough info there to have much idea what's happening, exactly what pings work and don't, and where they're initiated and destined isn't clear.
