Hello…I'm trying to run Snort on the LAN interface of my PfSense 1.2.3 box.

Whenever I try to start Snort on the LAN interface, I get "snort[15143]: FATAL ERROR: OpenPcap() device lan open: BIOCSETIF: lan: Device not configured" in the System Logs.

Snort starts and runs fine on the WAN interface but I need it running on the LAN interface for a special configuration.

Any ideas on how I can get past this?

      Thanks

There seems to be an issue with the lan interface to be converted to its underlying interface.
Unfortunately i do not test much in 1.2.3.

This is not an issue anymore.  After upgrading to pfSense 2.0, I can set up my configuration so I don't need to run Snort on the LAN interface.  Thanks
