  • Why is pfSense creating resolv.conf every second?

  • dhclient is the DHCP client.  It looks like every second, for some reason, your pfSense box is deciding to renew its IP.

WHat IP address is it getting, and from where?  It is possible that it is getting handed a very very short leased IP, and is having to constantly renew– which could / might result in having to re-write resolv.conf (as that is where DNS servers are stored).

Or if you dont know, what is the WAN interface hooked to?  Is it by any chance a modem?

  • WAN1 and WAN2 are both connected to DSL modems. One is a 6mbit DSL line and the other is an 18mbit Uverse line.
