Best my knowledge, traffic shaper and squid does not work on the same box. I would like to use traffic shaper.

So, I want to put squid on a different box and run it transparently. Problem is that I still need traffic shaping to work, and I dislike the idea of creating multiple subnets.

Unless I'm wrong, you can't have two NICs and keep them both on the same subnet. Correct me if I'm wrong. I could setup port forwarding to forward everything to the squid box, but then I wonder whether that would mess up with traffic shaping, or not? Or, I could setup squid on pfsense and forward everything from there to my main squid box but that'd mess with traffic shaping, no?

      Thanks!

      Shawn
