Dose anyone here using FX5620  with a harddrive equal or bigger than 20 GB ?

It seams that I can't install pfSense 1.0.1 on this machine at all, the installation complain that
the harddrive geometry that bios is using is wrong and the fdisk fail to create partitions on the harddrive correctly.

I hadn'nt this problem before when I used older version of pfsense.

Set your hdd in the bios to lba instead of auto. It seems to make a difference for freebsd when detecting the drive geometry. Had to do this on my nexcoms as well when using an 80 gb drive.

          It's a problem about UDMA.

Take a look at the "Disable DMA for IDE drives" Section of this page.

          http://wiki.pfsense.com/wikka.php?wakka=BootOptions

Then you will install pfSense without problems (you should change /boot/loader.conf)

When system has started, you can activate DMA with "atacontrol". Be careful with the mode you use.

          Greetings

          Roberto
