Everything is working just fine except gmail (https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?shva=1) won't load in any other mode but basic and in basic mode it is very slow.

I am running Squid, Squidguard and captive portal.

Why would GMAIL be effected and any ideas what to look for?

I think it may be something to do with unbound

Uninstalled unbound and it made no difference…. gmail just won't load in the advanced mode

Hi, I rebuilt the whole box with three nics (but only use two)
WAN (assigned by router DHCP - 192.168.1.4) - connected to my router
                LAN (static: 192.168.199.1)

                DNS: 192.168.1.1 (router)

OPT (which isn't being used and has no IP)

Last time it worked just fine (using the same CD). This time it appears that certain HTTPS sites take forever  to load (or just time out).

Most sites are loading but feel ever so slightly slower.

Yeah its like the DNS is half resolving…. I thought I had broken it with a package that I installed as it was working last week (after I changed from using pfSense 2 beta) but after a fresh install with no packages added it did the same thing. I'm included to go back to the Beta version that I have.

Rolled back to Beta but experienced the same thing. I then worked out that it only starts happening once I start using  certificates to access pfSense's captive portal.

That might be the problem, but i havent used certificate authentication for the firewall so i don't know

Not sure…. maybe I was tired ... maybe something went wrong when I was installing as I have now reinstalled the latest build again and it is working fine..... hate these sort of issues...must have been me  :-\
