Multi-WAN in one subnet
-
Hi,
currently i have 2 pfsense boxes (CARP enabled) with one WAN-subnet (10.0.0.0/24). I will get a second backup internet connection. Is it possible to connect the second connection also to 10.0.0.0/24 with an diffrent gw-ip, and let the pfsense config the same?
The reason for this setup should be, one internet link has 30Mbit/4Mbit and the second one has 4MBit/515kbit. I only will use the second as backup and not for load-balancing.
Let's say the default-gw is 10.0.0.x/24 for both pfsense and the second gw will be 10.0.0.y/24 and will only be used, when www.google.at will not be reached via 10.0.0.x/24.
Is it also possible to switchover the firewalls when www.google.at will not be reached via 10.0.0.x/24, because i have the possibility to install both pfsense boxes on diffrent location via a wifi bridge connected and to avoid double traffic on the wifi bridge,…
Thanks in advance,
rgeards
