I know with dmesg command I could see the kernel boot.

But I want to see (without going to the console) the results of the starting pfSense script which runs after the kernel boot. Is this information logged in some file?

I was hitting with a wall with a problem not starting all the services and not starting the webconfigurator correctly. It was due to a non existant squid.inc, called from a php which uses it with require_once called by /usr/local/pkg/squidguard_configurator.inc (i think it was a old config from a previously installed package). If I could see this log I saved a lot of hours travelling to the CPD :-(

      I answer myself:

      /tmp/PHP_errors.log
      and
      /tmp/bootup_messages

I think they're on /tmp thinking on pfSense installations with RAM disks.

I removed all the files related with squidguard on /usr/local/pkg and now all my services are running correctly after a restart.

Sorry for bugging. I wait this info helps someone with my same problem.

I have the exact same problem. Removing /usr/local/pkg/squidguard* followed by a reboot get things back to normal. Thanks for the tip!
