I have SquidGuard setup to block certain categories at a couple clients.  Today I use a free blacklist site to pull down the categories, however I want to update these maybe daily or weekly so the categories have the most recent sites.  I know I can go to the url place and do an update, however is there a way to do this in an automated feature?

Can I setup a cron job to run a command line that updates this.  Does anyone know the command to do an update to the SquidGuard database from the url given?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

      Thanks!
      Zach

        Hi Zach,

I know this is a late reply but thought I'd complete the thread in case someone else is looking for the same info…
        ;D

You can set a Cron job to auto update blacklists.
The process is described here: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,35479.0.html

        :)
