this is a copy and paste from another thread that doesnt appear closed but I can't post on.

      I am running pfsense 2.0.1-RELEASE (i386) on ESXi 5.0

I have the same issue in that it installs (and reinstalls) but there is no /usr/local/freeswitch directory. All indications are that it installs and the service doesn't start.

When I try to start it I get the message "freeswitch has been started." but the service remains stopped.

The other issues are PHP errors on various pages:

      • Services > FreeSWITCH > Profiles:
          - Warning: opendir(/usr/local/freeswitch/conf/sip_profiles): failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /usr/local/pkg/freeswitch.inc on line 270

Take a look here and see if an alternative install to pfSense might work for you…

Im not sure how well if at all the freeswitch packages have been kept up...

Fusion PBX installed and worked fine for me on 2.0.1 (apart from no audio on the internal network, but I'm working on that). So I Know it installs and runs. I've only tried the freeswitch-dev package on pfSense-1.2.3 so I don't know if it works on 2.0.1.

Hi Chpalmer, I am running the latest version 2.0.1 of pfsense. Are you suggesting that freeswitch may not work well with this release and I install an older one?
