Jan 11 12:26:02 dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:12:34:56:78:90 via em1_vlan1Installed the latest 2.0.1 version last night from scratch. Have a dual band Cisco access point connected. I never had an issue before where if the client on VLAN1 switch between 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz pfSense would not allocate the same IP to it based on the same machine name and MAC address. I usually assign static IPs to known clients at home as it helps me map drives for sharing and file transfers. I never faced this issue before with earlier versions.
Just now tried to switch from 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz on my office laptop. It authenticates at the AP and passes but pfSense denies it an IP saying the IP is already in use on the network. Once the laptop disconnects to switch bands pfSense is not updating the IP status from online to offline.. OR just assigning the laptop the same IP as its the same MAC address. I suppose it still thinks the earlier disassociation never happend and keeps the IP online. And now an extra problem is that even if I don't keep it as static it behaves the same way.
Is this a bug that I might have uncovered?
