Are version 2.0.1 defaulted to ~5Mbps downstream bandwidth?

I'm working on migrating from a Tilgin router to a pfSense box but have run into a problem…

      I have a 30Mbps/30Mbps fiber connection, terminated in a RJ45 ethernet connection...
With the Tilgin router connected I have ~35-40Mbps downstream and ~60Mbps upstream.
With pfSense connected I have ~5Mbps downstream and ~40Mbps upstream...

pfSense is installed on a dual Intel XEON 3.06 GHz with 4 GB RAM, 2x onboard Broadcom 1Gbps NIC and 1x add-on Broadcom 1Gbps NIC.

Another thing, when autoselect speed is choosen on WAN the NIC keeps resetting, nothing when forced in 100Mbps-FD mode...

There are no bandwidth limits by default.

Okay, any clue on what could be the problem then?

Is Broadcom NIC's unsupported in 2.0.1? (The chip says BCM5703)..

            could be a hardware issue
could be a driver issue, check the compatibility list

if it's a driver issue, you can allways check if popular hypvisors support the hardware better,
then you could virtualize pfsense as you have more cpu cycles available then u'll ever need to fill that 40mbit line ;)

You may want to try the Broadcom tuning options listed here:
