If you do not see hard disk activity for few minutes, reset machine.

There is no hard disk activity for a lot of minutes. I reseted machine on button… but the problem always happen.

If i need to restart this server on a remote conection, this will be serious trouble.

Theres a definitive solution for this?

Obviously you have a bios or hardware issue that is causing your machine to hang.  You might try looking at your bios for power settings and see if there are any options you can try.  Sometimes just re-writing your bios settings can make issues cease…

I have multiple remote machines I reboot on occasion without issues as do many others here.  So no issue with the router code.

Disable or change acpi mode and everything you do not use(serial, sound, etc)

This, and upgrade the BIOS if possible, usually the cause of that is a BIOS bug related to ACPI (and at times a software bug related to it, but hardware is far more common).

Try to set this on the command line:

                  sysctl hw.acpi.handle_reboot=0

Then see if it can reboot.

If that works, you can add that as a system tunable under System > Advanced on the Tunables tab.

These kind of issues are almost always ACPI issues as others have mentioned. Update BIOS, toggle ACPI options in the BIOS, etc, to see if you can find a config that works.
