      Dear all,

I have limited knowlegde about networking, but willing to learn.

I'd like to setup a wifi hotspot using pfsense.

I download pfsense 2.01 i386 iso version. It is about 95mb.

I installed it in a VMware on my laptop, I connected to internet via a netgear router.

I configured the wlan interface, but it is same domain in my network, 192.168.0.x,

I can login to web config page using 192.168.0.x, but when i try to add a interface, the wireless one, it gives me blank in 'parent interface ' section.

Plz guide me what to do.  Thanks a lot.

Must I use an indepentdent computer… But i want to use in VMware, thanks a lot. Plz help.

The wireless interface is a ?? brand ?? model? FreeBSD/pfSense doesn't support all wireless interfaces. Perhaps your interface is not supported.

Also how exactly do you intend to use the wireless-card from within a virtual environment?
You have to configure the wireless interface in the host-system.

We do what we must, because we can.
