Pfsense 2.0.1 and Netcomm NB5 Plus 4 Rev2
-
Hi,
I have pfsence 2.0 running fine on a PC with 2 nics and a (Netcomm NB5 Plus 4 Rev2 modem) in bridge mode.
I have just purchased a mini ITX setup with 2 nics and installed pfsense 2.0.1 and then restored settings from the above machine, when I boot I cannot connect to my ISP.
Im using PPPoe to connect with the Netcomm modem in bridge mode.
As a test I tried a very old no brand modem and all works just fine. Once connected with the old modem I can swap in the Netcomm and it works fine, but does not work after a reboot.
PPP log does not seem to show much.
But I found this in the system log not sure what it means.
Jan 31 13:23:02 apinger: No usable targets found, exiting
Jan 31 13:23:04 php: : ROUTING: setting default route to 192.168.1.1
Jan 31 13:23:04 php: : The command '/sbin/route change -inet default '192.168.1.1'' returned exit code '1', the output was 'route: writing to routing socket: No such process route: writing to routing socket: Network is unreachable change net default: gateway 192.168.1.1: Network is unreachable'Any ideas?
Thanks

Getting 192.168.1.1 as your gateway from what that's showing, is that also your LAN IP? If so, you'll have to change your LAN IP and subnet.

I found that 192.168.1.1 was an old gateway leftover from testing. I have set the default gateway to the ISP IP. Now I dont get the error in the system log. But I dont think this was the problem as I still cannot connect.
Below is the output from the PPP log. You can see that it keeps timming out and at the very end you can see when I swap to the old modem and a connection is established.
I guess I will just get a new modem and try that, but its just weird that it worked with 2.0 and not 2.0.1.
Thanks

I just purchased a new TP-Link modem TD-8840 and seems to work fine now. I think I will stick to the new modem.
