I'm trying to download a log file from my pfSense box. The download file function in webConfigurator won't work (file is 0 bytes) I think because it is very large (~80 MB). I'm trying to login via PSFTP (part of the PuTTY program), but it hangs after typing in the password. Any ideas as to why this would occur? I've used PSFTP before successfully.

You can try to copy log file to /usr/local/www/ and fetch it directly from http://your_pfsense_ip/log_file.log

Keep in mind that is an unauth file transfer.

          I figured it out.

You have to login using the "root" account with the same password as the "admin" account. Then it works fine.
