Send notifications when VPN tunnel goes down?

Hello,

Is there a way to have pfSense send a notification when a VPN tunnel goes down?

I currently have pfSense 2.0-RELEASE configured for e-mail notifications but I am not receiving any notice when a tunnel goes down.

There isn't a monitoring system built in, that's the job of a general network monitoring system.
