    Dear all,

I am wondering if somebody can advise me about HTTP accelerators in pfSense.
I have read articles that are indicating that Varnish has much better performance than Squid. What is your opinion and why?

How to combine them on the same server?

    Thanks in advance,
    Canefield

Take a look on varnish website to see how it works.

Do you want proxy to cache or a reverse proxy for infernal web servers?

          Yes.

Varnish is designed for reverse proxy but can be configured to act as a proxy server.

As well squid is designed for outbound proxy but can be configured as a reverse proxy.

You may need varnish(http inbound and/or), haproxy(https inbound) and squid(outbound).
