I know this topic has been discussed a million times before, but I'm sure I've had transparent redirection of outgoing port 80, to an internal host on the same subnet, with a rule like (pseudo):

Redirect outgoing port 80 to <proxy_host>for ALL except <proxy_host>This was years ago, so it would've been on pfSense 1.3.

I'm wondering what the solution for both 1.3 and 2.0 would be.</proxy_host></proxy_host>

Did you tried to use squid package with transparent proxy option?

A rdr rule(firewall -> nat) the way you want could be done setting:

        Source: not proxy ip
        source port any
        destination any
        destination port 80
        Redirect target IP proxy ip
