      Hello,

can someone explain me why pfSense cannot check for new updates ?
Each time I log-on to pfSense i see the message

      "Unable to check for updates."
Could not contact pfSense update server http://updates.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_RELENG_8_1/amd64/pfSense_RELENG_2_0/.updaters/

      Thank you
      Tom

You should probably check your logs to see if your firewall is blocking the connection.  Go to http://yourrouter/diag_logs_filter.php and click "Clear log", then check for updates, and then refresh the log filter.  Do you see any traffic to 91.227.27.66 ( updates.pfsense.org )?  If so, the rule that blocked it should be there.

I don't think that NAT is the correct location for your post, so it may be moved soon.  I don't know where the post should go, though, so I can't make a suggestion.

          hello,

          thank for the reply.
I cannot see the ip address you mentioned in this log table… there is many other ip addresses but not 91.227.27.66
