PowerVR SGX545 Support
-
Hey guys,
So I'm a n00b to the forums ;D. I want to build a cheap/low-power box with a little more grunt then the ALIX.
I'm currently looking at the ASRock AD2700 motherboard http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=AD2700-ITX. It's an Intel NM10 Express Chipset with a dualcore 2.13GHz D2700 atom and a Realtek RTL8111E gigabit controller.
The new Cedarview Atoms are using PowerVR SGX545 instead of the Integrated GMA graphics. According to http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=OTQyNg there is not much support *nix support for PowerVR.
So here's my n00b question. Will the board still output generic VGA via it's HDMI port (enough to set it up and install to USB drive).
If it works, I'll use it with 4GB RAM, an Intel PRO 1000 NIC (for LAN side) and a mini-itx chassis with 300w PSU.
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that text console mode will work just like when you enter the BIOS. Same mode after boot, in text-mode linux ;D
