      Hello all
First off i would like to thank the developers for creating such an awesome firewall router solution
I haven't seen this anywhere yet but i was wondering if there will be any support for the RT61 ralink chipsets in the new version of pfsense. i have one pfsense box running with a ralink rt2500 wireless card and it works great so i thought i would buy more ralink wireless card but i ended up buy newer card based on the rt61 chipset, they where cheap about 20 bucks off newegg, but they dont work with pfsense. any one with any ideas or way to implement them manually or any thing else i would really appreciate your input

if freebsd suports it then pfsense will do to
pfsense uses freebsd 6.2 for its snapshots
and freebsd 6.1 for the older versions of pfsense
when freebsd 7.0 is releast then pfsense will use freebsd 7.0

Ok so after scouring the web for good while i found information that suggest that the drivers for a ralink RT61 / RT2561 based wireless cards was back-ported to freebsd 6.2 stable. i have tried the cards with the snapshot that was available on thursday and the card was never detected by pfsense. The information is listed here: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=108891and that was back in march. so am i doing something wrong or is the drivers that are back-ported not being included yet and if that is the case will they be included in the future. If testing is needed for this i can help with that.

Recent snapshots are based on 6.2.

I guess I forgot to mention that i have tried the newer snapshots, the last one I tried was from thursday night 4/19/07 and the card was not detected as a interface. Do I need to pass a command to the box to get things going?
Also I am looking into using ndisgen to get the card working.
              Thanks

Looks like it's in 6 stable (i.e. RELENG_6, 6.2 stable is misstated) not 6.2 release, RELENG_6_2.  That's a different branch, and means it'll be in 6.3 release, so you'll have to wait a while before you see that.

Thanks for clearing up that for me.
Is it possible to add the driver to pfsense, either in the regular release or for me to add it to my own box's setup. If i would need to add it two my own box, i would need some guidance as how to do that.
                  Any help is greatly appreciated
