Miniupnpd on Opt1?

  • I have two DSL lines in use. One is the WAN which I use for http, ftp, imap, smtp, etc. The other, OPT1, I use for everything else (p2p mostly). Is there any way to make miniupnpd use OPT1 instead of WAN?

I don't think there is a way to do this currently.

  • Thats what I didnt want to hear… I do know one workaround, I could just switch everything that goes through WAN to OPT1 and everything that goes to OPT1 to WAN. Then enable UPNP and everything would work fine... I was just hoping there was a way to do all of this without all that extra work.

    Start a bounty.

  • Any idea as to what the "Override WAN Address" box does? Sounds like something that might be helpful…

  • Generally used for CARP installations to override the miniupnp listening address.  Might work.

  • So to try that out would I put in the address of the gateway connected to opt1 (192.168.1.1) or the address assigned to OPT1 (192.168.1.10)?

  • Address of OPT1.

  • I know for a fact that the statistics reported back for Packets/Btyes Sent/Recevied uses the interface name only so those will be incorrect.

The port mappings will probably function, but I can't be sure of this. The correct way would be to modify the package to correctly set ext_ifname. The thing is that this will probably confuse most users as then they would have to correct set the internal interface and external interface.

  • That was totally over my head… I've been using pfsense for some time now, but anything outside of the normal interface is beyond me. I would really like to have upnp set up and working but it isn't critical. If you have any other simple or very detailed ideas they are more then welcome I would be more then happy to try them...
