    Hello,

I have pfsense setup as a transparent bridge between the WAN and LAN interfaces. The WAN interface has a CARP IP. The LAN interface has no IP assigned to  it.

I can ping the CARP IP from the internet (traffic enters on the WAN interface) but I cannot ping the CARP IP when on local network (when traffic enters the LAN interface). I have run a packet capture on the LAN interface and I can see the ARP "who has" broadcast but pfsense doesn't send a reply. Firewall rules are set to pass the traffic.

    Any ideas?

It's a known issue and has been that way forever. CARP and bridging aren't really things you want to mix in general. (Search the forum, posts from myself and others over the years might convince you…)
