I have a user behind PFsense 2.0, when he browse to livechess.chessdom.com, the target server disconnect him…. i whitelisted the urls @squidguard, same thing...however, if i put his IP in "Bypass proxy for these source IPs" @ SQUID, he connects fine... the problem here
is i don't want him to bypass the proxy... no control over his BW no control with squidguard, etc...
Also i tried to put the domain in "do not cache" and still not able to connect...

anyone have any ideas? thanks in advance...

        Hi,

put "livechess.chessdom.com" into an host-alias and put this alias in squid "bypass squid for destination IP".

Not sure if this is implemented in pfsense 2.0 but in 2.0.1 it should be possible to enter a domain in an "host" alias.

But "chessdom.com" does NOT include "livechess.chessdom.com". If you need both, include both in the alias.

Sorry i have 2.0.1, and i found the issue… i was setting the type as URL not a host... if u put the type "Host" and put the FQDN livechess.chessdom.com
it will add fine, confused between "URL" & "Host" types... At the end the main issue was solved and hopefully the user is able to connect to live chess... thanks a lot mate.  :)

Yes, the different alias types are sometimes a little bit confusing. :)
