      Hey Guys,

I would like to know if it's possible to implement SMB or AFP into pfSense? Not seen any packages regarding this but was wondering if the community had any ideas?

      Thanks

      Chris

It's possible, others have done it, but it's very much not recommended.
There is no package to do it so it would be an entirely manual install and config. Thus it won't survive a firmware update etc.
pfSense is designed as a firewall, adding extra services to it only reduces its security.

Search the forum for 'pfsense and freenas' or similar.

Okay, thanks for this, I'll hold off until I can virtualise the server!
