Did you included any custom option on squid GUI?
-
Yes I just added the options as per the squid "Windows update" wiki on the pfsense site
After looking at this site:
http://wiki.squid-cache.org/SquidFaq/WindowsUpdate
It showed me where it was it was coming up with that error, and it was referring to the following string:
([^.]+.|)
I followed as the squid cache site mentioned, and the errors disappeared
Now all I get is the following:
[2.0.1-RELEASE][admin@pfsense.localdomain]/root(26): squid -N -d 1
2012/04/13 22:09:47| Squid is already running! Process ID 56475;) I told you Id find things to help out others. Im already testing some kernel sysctl tweaks that have reduced overall processor consumption by a SIGNIFICANT margin. Normally pfsense was reporting it was constantly on 100% (For reasons I do not know), but now it reports an avg 15-17%
All depends how much my partner and I are surfin the net. As i further fine tune and work out more about how to better suit this server to its hardware, and also the connection to the hardware (I have paperwork sitting beside me for that too!!), then I'll be able to pass it on
-
Would you mind posting your tweaks so that it might help other create a more efficient system?

I use this regex for windows updates
([^.]+.)?(download|(windows)?update).(microsoft.)?com/.*.(cab|exe|msi|msp|psf)
In the beginning I used a regex like yours and got the same error, but after changing the errors disappeared.

no worries pod ;D
Only thing i noticed still after restarting the server (Had to move the man cave about a bit) is what it was going to start HAVP, it still complains pw: unknown group havp, but when you go and look at the necessary file, the group is there
Weird
Should be done fairly shortly, I gotta head out shopping, so im gunna do some more work on this damn server after i get back
