When I block a site with Squidguard I get this error message:

      Error
The requested URL could not be retrieved

      The following error was encountered:
      *ZERO SIZED REPLY

Squid did  not receive any data for his request.

I tried to set a custom error message and using a blank page but neither work. Why?

      Pfsense 2.0.1

Are you using squid as a transparent proxy?

If so, you have to set it up specifically like it says on the common acl page of the squidguard config.

Under "Redirect Mode" choose one of the approved choices. (see text below)

        Select redirect mode here.
Note: if you use 'transparent proxy', then 'int' redirect mode will not accessible.
Options: ext url err page , ext url redirect , ext url as 'move' , ext url as 'found'.

I chose "ext url redirect (enter url)"

Then In the redirect info box right below it put the full url of the redirect page.
        i.e.
        http://www.yourdomain.com/firewallblock.php

Works great on several different 2.0.1-RELEASE (amd64)
boxes I've just built for clients.
