Snapshot build timestamp suggestion
-
On days like 23-Apr-2012 when there were quite a few 2.1 snapshots built it gets confusing to know which one is installed on a system. For example:
pfSense-2.1-DEVELOPMENT-2g-i386-nanobsd-20120423-0636.img.gz Last Modified Date 23-Apr-2012 09:28But on the running system it says:
2.1-DEVELOPMENT (i386)
built on Mon Apr 23 08:11:16 EDT 2012
FreeBSD 8.3-RELEASEThe "0636" in the filename is before the "08:11" reported online.
The "Last Modified Date" is later, and that's fine - I guess that is when the image got posted online.
I guess that all the timestamps are in US EDT.If it's easy, then it would be very handy if the "0636" and "08:11" were the same, or at least quite close in time (+_10 or 15 minutes). That would make it much easier to deduce which build image is being run - specially on dates that have lots of builds done.

I thought at once point I had made them match up, but it's hard to say for sure there have been so many builder fixes over the years.
Recently I did make all of the build timestamps match up at least. If I get a moment I'll look into that timestamp as well.

This might help…

Thanks Jimp, it worked. I just flashed onto my Alix CF card:
http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_RELENG_8_3/i386/pfSense_HEAD/nanobsd/pfSense-2.1-DEVELOPMENT-2g-i386-nanobsd-20120425-1547.img.gz
and the Dashboard says:
2.1-DEVELOPMENT (i386)
built on Wed Apr 25 15:47:29 EDT 2012
FreeBSD 8.3-RELEASE
