Overly chatty radvd
-
A few hours ago I upgraded to 2.1-DEVELOPMENT (i386)
built on Sat Apr 28 05:27:55 EDT 2012
FreeBSD 8.3-RELEASE and now my system log is filled with noise of the form: Apr 30 10:30:38 radvd[48209]: sendmsg: No buffer space available
Apr 30 10:30:38 radvd[48209]: sendmsg: No buffer space available
Apr 30 10:30:48 radvd[48209]: sendmsg: No buffer space available
Apr 30 10:30:48 radvd[48209]: sendmsg: No buffer space available
Apr 30 10:30:52 radvd[48209]: sendmsg: No buffer space available

I thought we had moved that off to its own log, but perhaps not.
databeestje may have to look at that, he's out on vacation for the week (lucky him!) so it may have to wait a bit.
It isn't normally that chatty, but I'm unsure why you're getting that buffer space error.

I went ahead and moved radvd and some others (routed, ospfd, bgpd) to a new Routing tab under the System logs.

Thanks.

If the ethernet link is down it will throw that message after something like 30 something packets.
as soon as the network card buffer is full really. We might be able to patch radvd tosurpress that message.
