Squid for Dummies
-
I just tried installing Squid 2.7.9 pkg v.4.3.1 on the embedded version of PfSense 2.0.1-RELEASE (amd64). Under the Cache Management tab, I attempted to set RAM memory usage, but when I did I received messages as follows:
The following input errors were detected:
The field 'Hard disk cache size' is required.
The field 'Hard disk cache location' is required.
The field 'Minimum object size' is required.
The field 'Maximum object size' is required.
The field 'Maximum object size in RAM' is required.
You must enter a valid value for 'harddisk_cache_size'
You must enter a valid value for 'maximum_object_size'
You must enter a valid value for 'Minimum object size'I had set the hard disk cache system size to "null" (which the package itself indicates, "Does not use any storage . . . Ideal for Embedded/NanoBSD"), so why would I then be required to set hard disk parameters (I am not using a hard disk)?
These messages make no sense. ???

It's a gui requiriment, try to use 0 on these fields you do not want to configure.

O.K, I tried that, but the service does not seem to be working. Anything else I need to set?
