Cannot connect to host

  • Hi all,

I'm trying to get IPSEC working for remote access via mobile and laptop. I'm able to connect fine but I cannot reach my inside network. Wondering if anyone would be able to assist with troubleshooting?

For reference I had followed this:

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

  • no one?

  • First, what version are you running? Second, did you create the rule in IPSEC firewall tab to allow traffic? Third, are there any log entries that is showing any errors?

  • Thanks for your response.

    I'm running:

    2.0.1-RELEASE (amd64)
built on Mon Dec 12 18:16:13 EST 2011
    FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE-p6

Under firewall –> rules --> ipsec I have 1 rule to allow anything.

Only logs I see under ipsec would appear to be from someone trying to connect to my box.

Are there any configuration options that I need to ensure are enabled?

  • What VPN client are you using?
Can you at least get to the internal interface of your pfsense firewall?

  • Wow interesting. I WAS using Cisco VPN client. Since you posed the question, I had not thought it could be the client since I was able to connect okay. Anyway installed Shrew soft, imported the same profile and I seem to be able to RDP to an internal host…etc just fine now. :)
