      Hi,

New to pfsense and need a little help. I am having weird dns issues with my box. My WAN is up, it set to override dns server. My lan connects to the internet, I also have my internal dns servers listed and I can use the Diagnostic -> DNS lookup to find ip's etc. but FreeDNS, package manager and firmware updater all don't resolve.

      Freedns dies with this error:

php: /services_dyndns_edit.php: Curl error occurred: Couldn't resolve host 'freedns.afraid.org'

Any idea what I am missing?

      Thanks in advance.

      Edit:

Looks like it's working now, no idea why but it did finally update my freedns domain. Still can't figure out the other 2 resolve issues though.

If you had non-functional DNS on the host and tried doing those lookups at that point, at times PHP has a nasty habit of hanging onto failed responses and refusing to issue new queries. Running 'killall php' at the console should resolve, or at worst, reboot.
