PfSense Merchandise
-
So how come I can buy a Geek God bumper sticker but not a pfSense mug?
It seems like there would be some takers for merchandise of some sort and it would be a great way to contribute to the project. At least me and one other user. :)Steve
Edit: Not trying to detract in any way from the awesomeness that is the Geekgod logo. ;)

Cafe Press makes their stuff so expensive as a base price that anything with any margin on it would get pretty absurdly expensive (or so I think, their base is $20 for a very basic t-shirt with printing on one side for example, which would cost about $5-6 each if we got 100 of them). I am checking into getting some items in bulk, though may still do a Cafe Press store at least for some items. Maybe everything initially and we see how it goes. Not sure what demand would be, but it's definitely worth giving it a shot. Only reason I haven't just created a store is I don't think I'm a good fit to design such items and we don't have any creative/designer types among us.

You might in your user base (definitely not me, unless you like stick figures). Perhaps a friendly competition for the best art work. Winner receives some of the swag for free, or perhaps free 5 - 10 hours of support.
There might even be some who would do it just to support the cause, all you really have to do is ask. -
True, if there are any creative types here, we'd love to see the contribution for something along those lines, and would be happy to compensate that person in some fashion. PM me here or email (cmb at pfsense dot org).

Talk to all those at the core of pfSense and see if you want to do that as a blog entry on the side of the main pfsense dot com website. That would probably draw in more people to help you in that area.
Thanks for all that you guys are doing with this project. -
Hmm, perhaps I haven't thought this through.
Seems like we already have a great logo. I wasn't thinking of anything more complex than this:
I'd never really looked into costing this before but it would be a shame if there was no benefit to the project, other than spreading the word. :)

A giant two-fisted coffee mug, perfect for sysadmins.

:D
I expected to easily find an online mug design page that would wrap the picture nicely but no.
I guess we'd need some huge pfSense coasters for that mug.Steve

I'd like to see this mug on my worktable.. my colleagues would drop their eyes

If that does not really exist, it should. I've seen plenty of two-handled mugs but never one that was sized to actually need them both.

Fire up the potters wheel, I've got me some clay to throw!

Excuse me, miss? There seems to be a mistake. I believe I ordered the large cappuccino.
