      This file seems to serve no purpose at the moment. It calls a function that doesn't exist, and as far as I can tell it is not referenced by existing files anymore. I'm guessing it's historical? Is this true or is it used in some other way?

        It doesn't seem to actually be used at all, so it's probably obsolete (but didn't get removed from the repo+added to obsolete files list)

            ok, Ermal will have to look that over, IIRC there is a reason we don't do that, and I thought we already delayed bringing them up somehow, I don't recall  the specifics.

              It wasn't delayed; the CARP interfaces were brought up once, and that happened before the packages. There could definitely be something I'm overlooking so I certainly welcome more scrutiny. Thanks! :)
