Why is the WAN the first interface when installing on version 2.0.1?

I have the LAN and WAN ports of my interfaces on all of my routers labeled.

The first interface (since I use Intel NICs) is em0 and for the LAN and em1 is the WAN.
I believe in convention over configuration so it upsets me that this is changed.

Do you find yourself unable to change the port assignments once the system is running then?

because WAN is the only required interface. WAN is the only interface on single interface appliance-type deployments. Nothing prevents you from assigning em1 as WAN and em0 as LAN.
