VPN Via Epia dual NIC Board racoon 100% cpu then crashes

Hi All

I have recently got hold of a via epia pd6000e mainboard, i have it up and running using physdiskwrite to copy the image to usb stick, boots no problem and all works.

I have setup a IPSec VPN which worked a couple of times from my Ipad, i could ping subnets and browse internal networks etc. 
Then all of a sudden if i try connecteing the racoon service shows 100% cpu usage and crashes the service any ideas why this is happening.
