Console Menu via SSH login for non admin user

  • I have created a separate user in pfSense 2.0.1 to give to the few other individuals in my company that may need to ssh to pfSense on occasion.  I can log in via shh fine but it just takes me directly to the shell.  Is there a way I can have it just pull up the menu like it does when I log in as admin?  If not, is there a command I can run at the shell to pull up that menu?  I added the user to the admin group but that had no effect.

Not effectively. The menu only works when run as root/admin and there isn't a way to grant that privilege to other users built-in yet.

We've been considering including sudo to allow users to run things like the menu as root, but it hasn't been completed yet.

  • Thanks jimp.  Knowing for sure that it is not possible, I can come up with a workaround for my needs.  Just wanted to make sure that I was not just missing something.
